Douche-Bag-itis On the Rise
This is my first article here on PNN and I honestly thought it would be some insighful fashion advice or tips on how to be a recessionista. I do plan to make my next one some article realting to my passion for fashion and maybe something a litte more serious than this one but I figured what the hey, its myfirst one might as well address a topic that has my concern, for the time being. This blog is about a distrubing trend I have noticed amoung many of the guys that not only I meet, but that my friends and loved ones have encountered and that many of us, as the public have seen on many reality T.V. shows. Douche-Bag-Itis!!!!!! :(
This trend as my title puts it is what I like to call Douche-Bag itis and rising epidemic that it has become with quite a few men between the ages of 18-40. I see them in bars, clubs, restaurants out on the streets and far worse on the ever classy reality T.V. One reality T.V. show that has addressed this problem is the MTV show "Tool Academy" in which somewhere between 10-12 douche-bags are given an ultimatum by their already fed-up and too patient girlfriends.
This then brought me to this article of why it is that so many men or boys rather think that by being un-classy, disrespectful, basically de-meaning towards women that we will flock to them. I mean, where have all the real men gone, WTF!!! How is a fun-loving yet decent, nice and hardworking girl supposed to meet a guy of equal or even a slightly higher caliber than herself with all these douche-bags running about?
The worse part is that when these guys are seen on T.V. and they are proud of their disrespectful way of acting and if any female calls them out on it, they are considered "bitches" and seen as some sort of shrew. Now you may get the occasional bad seed of a female ( aka New York in "I love New York or Daisy in "Daisy of Love") that is not only ok with this type of behavior but almost asks for it by presenting theirselves in a "slutty" fashion. But, for the rest of us self respecting females, we are told by society that this is an okay way for males to treat femaes and if we call them out on it, we are reprimanded. It's a scary epidemic and its only growing as young men think that this way is okay to act towards women and just everyone in general.
As a young female in my twenties I have to say that the pickings are slim if this does continue and I just hope that this epidemic gets weeded out, before its too late...
Since, this is my first posting I welcome comments, whether you agree or disagree with me. How boring would it be if we all had the same opinion :)
